EXPERIENCE AND LICENSES:

My career in education began when I gave up a new marketing career to pursue my passion - working with children. I am a NY state licensed K-6 teacher and I have worked in general education and special education settings for 15 years. I am also a mother of two absolutely incredible children.

I have experience directly teaching, developing curriculum, and coaching teachers in grades K-8 in the NYC DOE and Long Island school systems. I specialize in online support, coaching, and curriculum development. In my last year of teaching (2017), my 5th grade class scored the largest growth gain on the NY State Reading Exam in our entire PK-8 school in Queens. For the next four years I was chosen to lead a Federal Magnet Grant and transform all curriculum in all grades to match the new NY State Common Core Standards and ensure growth in overall student academic achievement.

I have also privately tutored and coached sports in all NYC boroughs, Long Island, and Westchester for over 15 years.

HOW I BEGAN HOMESCHOOL CONSULTING:

Due to Covid, my work shifted beginning in March 2020. I co-led the initiative of moving an entire school to online / remote learning within two weeks. Through this intense-yet-unbelievable process for the past year and a half, I wrote online curriculum for all grade levels, assisted with technology support for all families and staff, and gathered, sorted, and organized all online resources. But I mainly ended up speaking with and guiding parents and families on a daily basis. I found, through this experience, that homeschooling can absolutely work with the proper professional guidance.
